Established in 1971, the school for the deaf gave us an opportunity to understand the tremendous potential of these young minds, and a proof that communication and creativity has no barriers. The foundation of P.S. Kothari Multipurpose School was laid by the then President of India, Shri V.V.Giri. This special school was set up with the intention of imparting quality education to children having speech and hearing impairments as well as children with physical handicaps. Apart from providing primary vocational training, vital activities are conducted by professionals for the overall development of both mind & body. It has rendered unique services to the society by offering a well-blended mainstream education plan and special life-skills totally free of charge. With its excellent facilities and well-designed infrastructure, this campus has been acclaimed as one of the best in the state of Gujarat, which aligns perfectly with our aim to create and sustain a model campus in the service of the very special children of God.

At P S Kothari Multipurpose School for Speech & Hearing impairment, children are valued as individuals possessing tremendous abilities within them, and experience high-quality learning which is dynamic, imaginative and creative. All forms of teaching that is provided is relevant to the child’s growth, which encourages them to strengthen their life skills. Through stimulating teaching methods and the vast array of resources, pupils are encouraged to undertake challenges and to overcome barriers. Computer Center

Shri Chhimbhai Dandikar Computer Education Centre : 

It is very well observed that if the inner strength of the despaired children is guided well they can work wonders. Giving Parallel type of opportunity to such children for computer education can be a wonderful thing for them. Honorable Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles , Shri Kashirambhai Rana allotted a handsome amount from his M.P.’s Fund for this purpose along with courtesy extended by the family and friends of Late Shri Chhimbhai Dandikar (UK). This is how computer center came into existence in Manav Kalyan Trust. All Deaf Students from v th standard onwards are given Computer Training so that they can join the main stream of society.

Dental Care Unit

As part of our up-gradation of the team of health care professionals, we commenced with a dental care unit headed by Dr. Abdul Wahid, visiting dentist. Our objective of dental care is not only constrained to treatment, but also focuses on comprehensive interception and prevention through various aids such as fluorides, varnish, pit & fissure sealants, brushing technique demonstration & training.

Audio - Visual Digital Classroom

Technology has completely transformed the way information is made available, transmitted and perceived. With access to an almost infinite pool of digital resources, learning is no longer limited to classrooms. Education is no longer constrained to any building with professors and labs. The advent of new technological tools has made it possible for distantly located students to collaborate with their instructors and peers for learning new skills and acquiring knowledge. With the help of state-of-the-art technology, our ‘Digital Interactive Classroom’ is packaged with a robust infrastructure that helps schools and students to become globally competent, bringing tomorrow’s education to us today. Digital Interactive Classroom covers the complete curriculum of the State Board of Secondary Education (SBSE), which gets seamlessly integrated with the school syllabus.

Smt Achratben Bhagvanji Lavji Sanghvi Audiology Centre : 

In the year 2004 26 th January, Renown Saint Shri Morari Bapu spared considerable time for inauguration of various projects of our organisation. He also inaugurate Audiology centre for Deaf Children on that day.

Hostel for the Speech & Hearing Impaired Boys & Girls

1997 A.D – Inauguration of Boys & Girls Hostel for Deaf :
“Manav Kalyan Trust” was fortunate to have Spiritual Luminary Revered Saint Shri Ramdasji Maharaj of Sant Ram Mandir, Nadiad, to inaugurate the Bagmalbhai Laxmichand Parikh Boys & Girls Hostel in the year 1997. He showered his blessings to the children of “Mamta Mandir”.On this event our Deaf & Mute children performed an excellent cultural program. Hon. Minister for Social rights and justice for state of Gujarat Hon. Shri Fakirbhai Vaghela graced this occasion with his presence and blessings. Also the family members of Bagmalbhai Laxmichand family dignified the occasion with their presence. This ceremony was made successful by donors and huge gathering of well wishers of “Mamta Mandir”.

Physiotherapy Center

In order to deal with, and enhance the physical health of our school children, our institute possesses a physiotherapy unit with highly sophisticated units. Under the guidance of a  qualified full time physiotherapist, we strive to enhance the capability of our children towards functional independence. Not only the residents, but also the children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, multiple handicap and other physical ailments, coming from regions in and around Navsari, are trained here. The treatment that we provide is mainly based on Neuro Developmental Therapy, which is currently followed in most institutions operating on cerebral palsy children. Through our Sensory Integration Room, special facilities are also made available in order to improve the sensory integration for young children. These services are intended to provide preventive, curative and remedial services for children aged between 0 to 16 years with delay in milestones & development. A team of professionals (consisting of a special educator and a pediatrician) carry out this intensive program. Our early intervention program provides individualized care to each child, thus helping them to achieve their full potential in the shortest time possible.

Shri Bagmalbhai Laxmichand Parikh Hostel for Deaf - Dumb Boys and Girls

Disability occurs only when your spirit to live and thirst to succeed dies. Identifying the potential in the deaf and dumb children, Mahendra Brothers contributed to the creation of Shri Bagmalbhai Laxmichand Parikh Hostel. Equipped with all essential, state-of-the-art amenities, the hostel provides children with all the support and encouragement they need to succeed in life.
